Before you verify

HOUSBE, L.L.C. asks you to verify your identity through its provider, Didit (Didit Identity, Inc. for U.S. customers), to confirm that you are the person on your government-issued photo ID, that a live person is present, and to stop impersonation and duplicate accounts.

Didit asks you to photograph your ID and take a selfie with a short liveness check, and uses facial recognition to compare the selfie with the photo on your ID. This creates biometric data (facial geometry) from both images. Didit holds the images and the biometric data, uses them only for this check and its review, and destroys them under its verification notice and the limits in Schedule S, Section 10. HOUSBE does not receive or store your ID images, your selfie or any biometric data, and does not allow Didit to use them to train its models.

HOUSBE receives the result and these details read from your ID: name, date of birth, document type, the last four characters of the document number, issuing state, expiry date and nationality, with a keyed fingerprint of the document number and date of birth for the one-account rule. They are kept while your account exists and up to three years after it closes, and are not shown publicly. If you do not consent, the check does not start and the features that need a verified account stay unavailable. Schedule S of the HOUSBE Master Terms of Service has the full notice and retention rules.
